| I don't believe so. The PCM can start and run the car without the MAF sensor. _________________ 1997 turtle |

| I don't know TOO much about the sensor itself and it's complete functions, but once mine was unplugged after I changed my coupler and my car wouldn't stay running. I believe Turtle is more correct though. _________________ 1995 Riviera - Dark Cherry/Burgundy, 112,600 miles, Supercharged, Opened air box with K&N drop in, vac/boost gauge... 1988 Lesabre T-type - Garnet Red/Black, 117,200 miles, FWI, 3" Flowmaster exhaust, Delco II ignition swap, hood louvers... |

| What year is your car? Maybe, but it should run without it, albeit poorly. _________________ '98 Buick Riviera; Gen V 3.25 pulley, N*, VS Cam, 180 stat, Custom PCM (Powrtuner), headers & HF cat , 42.5 lb inj. Grant-built/PRJ/Thrasher trans 3.29 gears, 7/8 chain, zzp hardened IS |

| Devins car would not start with a bad maf. try unplugging it and see if ti gets any better. Is the car trying to start, but it seems like the A/F is too far off to run? any SES light? _________________ 3.4, N*, 1.84RR, P&P blower and LIM, 3"DP, 4"WAI, plog, 6K HID, Eibach pro springs, KYB GR-2, Fbody 12" brakes, caddy STB & sway bar. | Can you change the title of this Topic to Mass Air Flow instead of Mass Flow Air for future search's. I don't think anyone will search for a mass flow air sensor. (could be wrong though) _________________ 98 Riv, 102K Miles, EBC, LS1 Ft.Calipers, STB, Addco Rr Sway Bar, 180* stat., SSAC Headers, HF Cat, 1.9's, 105# springs, MPS 3.4, DHP tuned by the Deekster.
