Picked up a set for $38 shipped... What a steal.

These will be going into the Rivi once they arrive.

The car already has an aftermarket JVC deck in it. No amplifier or subs, yet. This is my GFs car, not mine.

Now thats Im a car audio dealer I can get some good deals. But for $38 you just cant touch this...

Who knows how many sets are left, but this is a steal of a deal folks!

Thanks for the tip.
I assume the price with shipping is negotiable?

Ya, he has a BIN or you can submit an offer.

I heard he was taking $40 shipped so I low balled @ $35. He came back counter for $38. Pffft I can do that smile

The closer you are to LA CA the cheaper you might get them...

I'm not an audio guy, how do these rate as speakers go?

MB quarts are pretty high end speakers. I'm sure this is a lower end model...but still a steal. I picked up a set!

From what I can gather these are pre-Maxxsonics buyout. These were made in Germany, not China.

This is a higher end set, even though its coaxial. Very rare to see an external passive crossover with a coaxial.

Coaxial will be better for out cars anyhow. Helps keep the source point one in the same. Also less modifying of the car, keeps stock appearance.

Agreed. I actually mounted my SAS components with a custom bridge to mimic coaxial set-up. I used to run a set of JL Audio XR coaxials with external passive x-overs. The design and cones sourced from old German MB Quart. Great speakers.

Will probably pick up a set of these if I get to order in time. I have listened to these a long time ago. Very flat, not harsh up top.

I'm sure this is a stupid question but I better go ahead and ask - they are sold as a set of 2, not individually, right? Cause I just ordered, and if I only ordered one I need to act fast so I don't end up paying xtra S&H.

They are sold as a stereo component system (a pair). Two crossover boxes, two coaxial mid/tweeter drivers. Congrats on owning a piece of classic car audio goodness!

Looking forward to it. You guys let me know if a similiar deal comes up to replace the rear speakers. I've had about enough of this Concert Sound II business. I'm officially saving for rims however and need to be thrifty in the meantime.

BTW Aaron it says they've got 80 pairs remaining, so it's not too late if you want them.

Make a $25 offer and you'll get them same as if you used Buy It Now.

Slap these in the doors and you may not want any speakers in back. That's my preference, anyway.

Dammit AA that's too easy. $25 to take my stereo from zero to hero? I can't live with it, life is meant to be hard!

So you wouldn't put in an amp either? Subwoofer? Surely these little speakers can't have enough bass.

I would buy a small stereo amp (50wrms x 2) to power them. You can put it under the dash or maybe under a seat if small enough.

Maybe get a sub later on. Something like the Infinity BassLink is a nice set-up and can be had for $150 on amazon. It's powered, taps into your rear speaker wires.

But I would still not waste money on rear 6x9"s unless you prefer the sound coming from behind. In that case, mount the MB Quarts to adapter plates in the rear deck.

You would disconnect and remove the CS2 6X9's?

Any recommended amps?

No. Just turn them down and use them for "fill"
