I think ilike the floating R logo in the black grille center a little better. I really think personalizing our cars good. I know it is something I've always done . That's why I put on that Teal double pinstripe and flame dice on the mirror, not to mention green dice on the valve stems of both my cars and my green wide whitewalled bicycle.......

Thanks. I was in autozone today getting some seafoam and other stuff and was just looking at it and I decided to give it a try.

Go to autozone (or advanced whatever you have near you) and buy chrome stripping I believe it was called. The one I bought came in a 20 ft pack. It has a 3M adhesive on the back.

Wash off the grill before you start. Just measure it up to each one of the black pieces on the grill and cut with a sharp pair of scissors. Take the protective red stuff off and stick it to the black part of the grill. Just rub your finger up and down on each one to make sure they are sticking good.

You are most likely going to need tweezers to do above and below the "R" logo. That took the longest to do it was such a pain in the ass. I used the tweezers to stick them on there and then the scissors to push down to get it to stick.

Goodluck and thanks for the compliment wink

I wonder if it would be easier and look as good just spraying with a chrome paint? The grille looks like it is easily removed, so you wouldn't have to worry about overspray on the car. I just don't know what the quality is of such paint, though I've read recently of a new very good chrome paint on the market.

My car has gold accents, so I wouldn't chrome my grille, but I've thought about removing it and respraying it black so it looks new again.

That looks AMAZING. I am definitely going to do that when I get back to the states. I too think chrome paint would be the best solution, but at well over $30 for a "touch-up" sized can of the good stuff, it seems to be the more expensive route. If it's a 3M product on the back of these chrome strips, you've got a good chance that they aren't coming off any time soon!

Here is a place that does plastic plating. However, what SpaceBar has done is actually added girth to each rib with the added plastic stripping so simply plating the grill will not give the same effect.

Thanks guys. I though about painting it too but I don't think it would give the same effect. I would rather see it done first so I knew what it looked like. Thats why I went with the strips.

Also I don't know about putting the chrome around the headlight. I'll try it out after work with what I have left over the best I can without actually sticking it and take a picture for you see how it looks.

I think I'll go back to the local yard and pick up a good 95 grille ($50)and try out the paint process. Wish I could go chrome, but it just won't go with my gold accents.

Not so much if you clear coat it.

looks awsome! i might just try this too. i like to be more conservative but that looks pretty good for only $12. i think i'll try every other strip and see how it looks. i was washing my car today and kept wanting to but a new grill b/c the chrome on mine is starting to wear thin. anyone know of a way to revamp it? i think i may have pollished it away over the years on the flat bottom part lol

i've tried dupli-color chrome paint and its basicly silver paint thats has micro flakes. it wipes off afer a few washes. (i have some on my junk yard center caps smile
