| I've always liked the old-school white tire lettering. Just wondered if anyone thought it would look good on a riv? A few examples of white letter tires on modern cars are on this forum: http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/pics-videos-buffet-149/611839-white-letter-tire-paint-yay-nay.htmlMyself, I'm undecided, if the car could back up the look with power I think it might be cool, but only if there is meat to the sidewall of the tire. I don't think it would look good with lower profile tires. _________________ |

| I don't think it would look good. The Riv was designed for blackwalls. Older gen riv's might be able to pull it off, with the wire wheel hubcaps (just get real wire spoke wheels already, don't fake it!) _________________ '98 Buick Riviera; Gen V 3.25 pulley, N*, VS Cam, 180 stat, Custom PCM (Powrtuner), headers & HF cat , 42.5 lb inj. | White letters always felt NASCAR or TopFuel racer to me. Depends on your intent with the Riviera, but I prefer all black or white walls in some cases. _________________ |

| I do not think that it would look good on a Riv UNLESS they were Goodyear Eagles with really big letters You took a Midnight Blue Pearl Riv and painted red flames and then put a 24 on the sides along with a thousand other stickers. _________________ '99 Riviera Midnight Blue Pearl Alpine 9857 head unit with SWC and iPod cable. | O.K. everyone here's Jack's foolproof test to determine if you can do a mod on a Riv or not. You can do a mod to your Riv if - | | | | | | - you can also do the mod to a Jaguar XK8 and Jeremy Clarkson will not smack you up like a little bitch. Any questions? |

For the Riv it might make sense if (a) there were mods to back it up - whatever it took to get 0-60 time to under 5 seconds and (b) some functional trim changes for instance delete the chrome strips in the fender wheel openings and use black metal (black chrome, black anodized aluminum) or none at all; same with the grille and inside door handles; put a good set of Recaro touring seats in (they won't be better than the seats that are in now, just different) with manual rather than power adjusters (like in the Volvo 740s); make the gauge cluster three large circles instead of 2 - from L to R tach, speedo, driver info center with gas, oil pressure, temp, ammeter, boost, ABS, cruise, brake, and other functions on dials and electronic readouts.
The problem here is that GM would fight internally about making this a Cadillac. Or they'd say go buy a Pontiac LeMans (the Holden Monaro) or a Monte Carlo. Et cetera...
...all over some white letter tires.
