Hello guys, it seems to be some confusion about the 95 year/model Riviera and what scanning tool/cable to use to read OBD I codes. GM used a OBD II connector to interface a OBD I system. An OBD II cable/software will not work on the systems. (I tried)

Use this link for for more information. http://aldlcable.com/sc/details.asp?item=aldlobd2 You can purchace a cable or they give instructions to build one yourself using a standard PC serial cable. They also have several links to free scanning ...

I took it and got it scanned, and it had a quad module 3 error along with a cam/crank error as well. The guy told me the quad was most likely the ICM and I switched that out, but a few days later, same thing, car cutting off. So we scanned again, same quad module error with 99 cam/crank errors so I picked up the two sensors from AutoZone and replaced ...

Thanks for this wonderful site, very good reads. and alot of them!

I have no injector pulse on my 95 riviera 3.8 sc, The injector fuse is good and has power. I do have 12v at injectors when key is on. And injectors all read 14.2 ohms across injector terminals. Noid lights do nothing when cranking. Car has 35psi fuel pressure at the rail. Good spark (5.69 -5.73 ohms across each coil pack) and good compression also.

Any help troubleshooting this problem would be appreciated.

Got a question here relating to long term and short term fuel trims....

Lately I've been getting some slight engine knock at WOT where once there was none. The KR started slight at only a quick jump of 2-3* but as time goes by has been getting worse and worse. After looking around on a bunch of forums, I'm pretty sure my cause is a weak/failing fuel pump. The pump I intend to replace shortly just to be sure, but the nature of my question is a bit different..

SLR performance chip

i found this online: http://slrmotorsports.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=99 (sorry i know the link doesnt work just copy and paste), and i thought it was interesting. You guys might have seen it before, and i dont know how such gains could be made with just a chip, but the sight does guarentee your money back if u dont see 50 + hp and torque. Its also a good alternative to tuning for those with 95s. Have any of u seen this before, is it any good?

Bought a 95 riv 3 months ago finely started driving it. had a lot of trouble getting codes fromit. Ended up getting the codes read at Murreys auto parts

The codes I'm getting are:

quad driver module-qdm 4 fault

fuel trim signal lean

linear egr pintle position error

cc switch sensor signal circuit problem

I have the FSM and it said the quad code was something to do with the cooling fans and or air compressor.

The fuel trim I'm thinking fuel filter.

Might have to replace egr ...

I have a '95 supercharged Riv that has a number of error codes popping up. The first sign of trouble was probably a couple of years ago or so when I noticed that the Traction Off light would come on every once in a while. Then a couple of months ago it morphed into the Service Engine Soon light along with diagnostic codes P0321 (Ignition System 18X Interrupts) and P0361 (Ignition System Elec Spark Timing EST Not Toggling). This came and went for a while, but for the most part the car ran fine. ...
