I have a 1995 Riviera Supercharged that is running bad. It's sputtering, kinda feeling like its missing, only when the check engine light is on. The check engine light started coming on about 2 weeks ago, at first it wasn't on all the time but now it pretty much stays on. When the check engine light is off it runs okay. I'm pretty broke right now, I can't really afford to take it into the shop, I did take it in this morning to see what codes it was reading. It came up PO112 (Intake Air Temperature ...

my cylinder heads are back from shop tomorow. blown headgasket at the rear was the problem. i thought it best to have the heads gone over completly just in case. total bill with resurfacing $140 not bad. im thinking that i should paint the heads along with the cylinder covers a bright red. would that be too much? since the buick colors are red wht blue maybe a tri color scheme might work? cylinder heads ,red. valve cover, 1 ,wht, the other blue, too corny? any sugestions?

Recently my 1995 Riviera S/C has been making a very high pitched whinny noise between 1500-2100 RPM. I stopped by my local Chevy dealer and a tech. took a quick look and put a stethoscope on some parts on my engine and finally said he thinks its the power steering pump... But, at idle when i turn the wheel it doesnt seem to have any difference in performance. But u can hear the normal power steering going out noise between those RPM's I mentioned before. I am wondering if it is the power steering ...

My Riv's fuel pump is working fine, but the dash gauge is not reading correct, sometimes reads correct down to half a tank, but then fluctuates back to full. I already checked source voltage and verified ground at the pump harness. Has someone else had this problem in the past?
I noticed a rusty spray over the greenhouse of my wife's Riviera and started to ask her who she was following - bad move! Actually if you get rusty spray from the windshield washer, remove the bottle and check the lower outlet. There is a STEEL colar inside for reinforcement that begins to rust. Work this out with a screw driver, clean and flush the system and the problem goes away. Who designed that thing? Greg

Okay I know its not rocket science but still, I'm gonna brag about it anyway.

All thats needed is 2 new struts - $25 ea from O'really's (my nickname for them)

As well as something to prop the hood with or a friend that doesn't mind holding it for the whole 2 min this takes, and a small flathead screwdriver.

Now open hood (duh ) prop hood or have friend hold in upright position. and locate small slot's in either end of struts. Top looks like this

Hey guys I am sure you guys already do this or may think it is not a good thing to do but I used to live in Central america where salt is in the very humid air and we used to Silicone our engines in order to water proof them as storms down there would flood the streets quite often and if no silicone treatment and water got to plugs and other electrical compontes car would go caput... so I always degrease then silicone treat the engine it also makes it look really nice with little effort...

Are there any little things that would "clean up" the overall look of the engine bay? Organize those wires some?

I was thinking about getting new plugs, which would look nicer. I heard this is not such a great idea, though - stock wires are "best".

I saw there was an aluminum valve cover on ZZP. Looks interesting... these are the kinds of ideas I'm talking about.

I know this isnt a Riviera but I thought I would ask this question for a friend since hes running a Series II motor. Its a 1997 Buick Park Avenue which needs a new wiper motor and wiper transmission. I found the parts on ebay pretty cheap and was wondering if anyone knew how difficult this would be to install myself. The dealer quoted him $542 for everything installed..

Should I remove my engine cover?

After shedding the cover, you'll notice there are brackets on the engine that used to hold the cover on. Removing these will rid your engine of almost 4 more lbs of weight.
