The radio and everything on the top of the center console works, but everything on the CD player is nonresponsive. Any help? Suggestions? How do I get my CD back?!

I would like a cradle that I dont have to use two hands to plug in, just set the iphone in and it's plugged.

My radio has bluetooth connection so that's how I get calls, it will autmatically mute/pause the music and the phone call goes over the speakers and I talk into a microphone I have mounted, ...

Picked up a set for $38 shipped... What a steal.

These will be going into the Rivi once they arrive.

The car already has an aftermarket JVC deck in it. No amplifier or subs, yet. This is my GFs car, not mine.

Now thats Im a car audio dealer I can get some good deals. But for $38 you just cant touch this...

Who knows how many sets are left, but this is a steal of a deal folks!

I always have to take my jump starter out of the back and connect it to the booster connections under the hood and let it sit for a few minutes before I can start it. It'll start fine after that.
This may be of interest to all those trying to improve electronic performance with the "Big 3" wire mod. Replacing your wires with bigger gauge can cost $50 or more, with results that aren't always measurable.

But there's an inexpensive way to increase the voltage from your alternator that can definitely be measured with a scanner or voltage meter. ZZP sells a product called a "Stage I" voltage booster, which costs $15.99 + shipping. This unit is supposed to plug in line ...

I've always read that the average human can hear up to 20k hertz. So when I choose a radio or speakers I always look at that, but what I found from this test, is that I can't hear above 15k hz. And I know my speakers were playing it, cause my 8-year old daughter could hear up to 20khz, but I couldnt.

Try it out, post your range.

I have posted some pics in some other threads. I decided to start a thread with progress pics of the build.

First some background: I picked the rivi with this build in mind. I have always liked the style of the car, and thought it would make a great platform for a great sound quality system. The car is a daily driver and I also compete in both the IASCA and MECA sound quality organizations. I have a couple of world championships with my previous car (chrysler 300m) now hopefully ...

Just got a '96 Riv at the beginning of the summer. Love the car. It rides nice and has quite some pep to it for the size. Only thing I'm not big on is the factory installed sound.

I'm looking to get a new deck (also referred to as head units right?) and new speakers and possibly a sub/amp if at a decent price. I really don't need anything that's going to be extremely loud. I'm just wanting something that's going to put out clean, crisp sound compared to the stock audio installed. I should ...

I would just like to say Hello to everyone, this is my first post.

I do have a serious question though. Many people tell me to go to crutchfield.com to select all the parts I need for an audio installation. They have the brackets and adapters to install a deck but they say that there are no CD decks that fit. I called and asked why and they said that my 97 riv has a shallow dash and if I put a deck in. Now I've seen pics of people with custom decks (some with the deck angled oddly actually) ...

I was thinking about trying to put a head unit where the cassette player is, but I am worried that if I unplug it then the computer might not work right. I could always put it in the glove box, but I want it to be easy to access, and to look clean. Anyone know anything or have any pics of an install like this?

After ant. installation, the radio is stone cold dead. No lights at all, nothing. Pretty dang coincidental, but I just can't imagine the antenna installation would have caused an issue with the radio powering up. I rechecked connections at the antenna also.

Also I like that it can be dimmed with the headlights. I hate when headunits don't have a dimmer.

I put in infinity kappa 693.9i (2ohm) 3-way 6x9"'s in the rear and 52.9i (2ohm) 5.25" 2 ways in the front and disconnected the tweeter. i also have a Sony Xplode 1100w (4ohm) sub and a 1000 watt amp. I have the sub getting input from the rear speakers. Now i believe my impedance must be messed up because it sounds like crap. I know stock i had 10 ohm rears and 8 ohm front speakers since there in series.
