Sense i got the car the a/c has never worked.. With warm weather here i would like to get it to work. the compressor does not engage only engages with a paper clip in the relay box from 30 to 87 ... my question could it be the low cut off switch or a leak in the system cause i did have it filled awhile ago but the compressor wouldn't engauge.. And were abouts is this cut off switch located ?

On my '92 there is a way to reset the system using the buttons on the controls, that is with the automatic climate control. I'm not sure if the '91 would be the same or not? On mine the compressor went bad and started making noise and the system read this and locked it out, resetting it might be what you need too?

Allright so i pull the sensor on the low cutoff switch and ran a paperclip in the sensor and the compessor engaged and a/c light went off so it has to be the low cut off switch right ??

I'm out of town for the next couple of days, I can look and see where I got my reset info and let you know as soon as possible.

Well, I just had this problem with my '90. I recharged the system and reset all of the electronics. (Which includes undoing the positive battery terminal.) After I did that, my AC works great!
