| While driving I try to speed up to 70 mph on the freeway, if I punch the gas the car may stall and do nothing.I have to let off the gas then press down slowly on the gas in order to speed up. 95 Rivi S/C Any thoughts? |

| If you have not already done so....replace the fuel filter. And maybe pour a bottle of HEET in the tank in case you have a tiny bit of water in your fuel. I agree with Bert on changing your fuel filter. It's inexpensive enough to rule that out as a possible area for fuel restriction. I change mine once per year as preventive maintenance.
No need for HEET or any other gas additives that contain alcohol if the gasoline in your area already has Methanol in it. In our area you can only buy gas that contains 10% Methanol. This is all the alcohol you need to suspend water in your fuel. If you don't have methanol in your gas then you can add a gas line anti-freeze. _________________ 98 Riv, 102K Miles, EBC, LS1 Ft.Calipers, STB, Addco Rr Sway Bar, 180* stat., SSAC Headers, HF Cat, 1.9's, 105# springs, MPS 3.4, DHP tuned by the Deekster.

| Does it shudder at all? Is your check engine light on? Perhaps a bad TPS? Never heard of Methanol in gas. Ethanol yes. That additive made from corn. Tends to clog up fuel filters a lot. I also change my filter once a year. You also might want to check all your fuel lines and and rubber hoses on those lines. My co-worker had an issue like this and as soon as he would push the gas the rubber hose would suck shut and shut down the engine from it. _________________ Drive Fast With Class. they don't use many rubber hoses anymore, mostly plastic-nylon tubing. They are known for splitting from time to time, but the rubber lines are mostly a thing of the past.
Our '69 and '73 still has those issues though, I have to replace the rubber lines frequently in them._________________ '98 Buick Riviera; Gen V 3.25 pulley, N*, VS Cam, 180 stat, Custom PCM (Powrtuner), headers & HF cat , 42.5 lb inj. | How many miles are on the engine, and when was the last time you replaced spark plugs and ignition wires? _________________ |

| Ok first more info, the engin is a swop along with the trans. The spark plugs and ignition wires are new. So as far as mileage I don't know truly. If I try to ecellerate out the gate it will choke and I have to let off the gas. When it finally get to around 50 it changes gears and starts to shutter and steddyaround 65mph.Even at high speeds I cant punch it because it will choke and decrease in speed. The trans does not slip, infact it has excellent highway mileage. I will change the fuel filter today and let you know the out come. |

| Have you double checked all your vacuum lines. Engine and Trans. Make sure you have no vacuum leaks and that they are routed correctly. _________________ 98 Riv, 102K Miles, EBC, LS1 Ft.Calipers, STB, Addco Rr Sway Bar, 180* stat., SSAC Headers, HF Cat, 1.9's, 105# springs, MPS 3.4, DHP tuned by the Deekster.

| I agree about the vacuum leaks. Sounds like a vacuum leak or unplugged sensor. Do you have a SES light? _________________ '98 Buick Riviera; Gen V 3.25 pulley, N*, VS Cam, 180 stat, Custom PCM (Powrtuner), headers & HF cat , 42.5 lb inj. | I agree on two counts - vacuum leaks or ignition coils and/or module. The shuddering is typically because of bad spark, be it from the module, coils, wires, or plugs. _________________ 1995 Riviera - Dark Cherry/Burgundy, 112,600 miles, Supercharged, Opened air box with K&N drop in, vac/boost gauge... 1988 Lesabre T-type - Garnet Red/Black, 117,200 miles, FWI, 3" Flowmaster exhaust, Delco II ignition swap, hood louvers... |
