Your Riv makes 232 WHP. Go back to the dyno and get a better number. BTW, a 40 WHP jump is ANYTHING but conservative!
FYI, my 248 WHP was done at 80ºF with 3.4" SC pulley. I know for a fact I'm making more power at 50ºF and a 3.3" pulley (~265 WHP), but I won't say it makes that much power until it's recorded on the dyno. |
ur right... so what your saying is that you want to race me from a dig?_________________ 1.9RR's, SSAC, LQ4 maf and N*, Gen V-ported, L32 LIM ported and polished, L26 block, L67 heads, tune, E85, 65# injectors Worthy quotes: | Rickw wrote: | | What a dipshit, grow up. |

No, I was saying you don't make 270 WHP... yet. |

guessing that was sarcasm, since nobody has acknowledged your questions yet. the fuel pump in the 95 is probably the typical dual stage pump used on 3800 cars. what makes you think it is the pump dying? in my opinion your lean condition is caused by the pulley used, &/or lack of tune. did you get the 36lb injectors new or did they come bench flow tested so you know they are putting out? and the fuel filter is newish too right?
good run btw._________________ 3.4, N*, 1.84RR, P&P blower and LIM, 3"DP, 4"WAI, plog, 6K HID, Eibach pro springs, KYB GR-2, Fbody 12" brakes, caddy STB & sway bar. Rear addco sway bar is next |

oh geeeez i'm sorry.. I doubt your fuel pump is what's holding you back!! i think you should just wait to get your PCM back from sinister and than shoot from there_________________ 1.9RR's, SSAC, LQ4 maf and N*, Gen V-ported, L32 LIM ported and polished, L26 block, L67 heads, tune, E85, 65# injectors Worthy quotes: | Rickw wrote: | | What a dipshit, grow up. |

fuel pump speed is controlled by a variable ground via the PCM. Some aftermarket companies make a 'hotwire' kit that uses a relay to give the FP a full ground all the time. You would know if you are running out of fuel by watching your injector pulse width and your fuel pressure at WOT (which you can probably only do on a dyno). If you are maxing out your injectors you only have a few options - raise your fuel pressure, or get bigger injectors. If you have fuel pressure remaining and are not maxing out your injectors, you can probably increase your fuel with a "Mini-AFC" - a device which interperets the MAF signal and tricks the PCM into thinking you are flowing more air, so it will deliver more fuel.
Fuel pump hotwire kits are made for Grand Prixs '97 and later, not sure if/how they will work out on a '95 as the PCM is different. Those and Mini-AFCs can be found from Intense Racing and ZZPerformance.
On a '95, I don't think you have many other options.

My first dyno run with 2.6 pulley and 36lbs injectors. Toping off lean 12.0. Real bad run, but my new chip from Sinister Performance should fix it and will be pulling another run in about a week, might be going to a smaller pulley too. |
where's your A/F curve? It's important. I don't want to see just the end number, I want to know what it is over the whole run.
What changes is Sinister making to your PCM? How are they making changes without seeing the A/F curve?_________________ '98 Buick Riviera; Gen V 3.25 pulley, N*, VS Cam, 180 stat, Custom PCM (Powrtuner), headers & HF cat , 42.5 lb inj. | Your dyno operator should insert a wideband A/F sensor in the tail pipe and record during your run. This is how you know to add +/- fuel from the dyno run. _________________ |
