| i found this online: http://slrmotorsports.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=99 (sorry i know the link doesnt work just copy and paste), and i thought it was interesting. You guys might have seen it before, and i dont know how such gains could be made with just a chip, but the sight does guarentee your money back if u dont see 50 + hp and torque. Its also a good alternative to tuning for those with 95s. Have any of u seen this before, is it any good? _________________ 95 rivi s/c bone stock (65k miles) > blown engine; engine swap from another 95 riv (170k) > blown engine again (this time due to oil leaking out)>done with the riv for now, bought a 97 aurora |

| Chance are if it needs velcrow its not doing anything useful. The only kinds of cars that see those kind of gains with a chip are turbocharged. Not supercharged. If it seems to good to be true , it probably is.
There are ways of getting more power out of a series I 95 riv , but if you want exceptional gains , you should swap to a series II or just buy another riv. _________________ 1996 Riviera, 82k miles , 3.4" MPS ,FWI , Ceramic P-log ,3" DP, P/P Gen III, STB . | MOVED TO: SERIES I SCANS AND TUNING...
Found this in their FAQ section:
Q: My vehicle is Turbo/Supercharged will the module work?
A: No, we build our chip strictly for engines not equipped with a turbo or supercharger. We can build custom chip for specific turbo/supercharged vehicles, please contact us for more info. Our custom chip for Turbo/Supercharged vehicles are built for specific timing, boost and other modifications.
Based on this response, it would appear that they are talking about a PCM upgrade, rather than a resistor on the IAT sensor lead, which is what most "chips" under $50 actually are - big rip-off. But maybe these guys have something worth looking into. Someone should contact them and find out. Maybe here's a door that needs opened. _________________

| I contacted them a few weeks ago....nothing new, however they are working on a chip for the L67 S/C and added me to their "contact list"....i dunno what the chip they are designing does though....
Hello, We normally build custom chips for turbo/supercharged vehicles. However, we are upgrading our software for even better performance on turbo/supercharged vehicles. The software update will take us approximately 2-3 months before the chips will be ready to tune. If you would like to be added to our waiting list please let us know and we will put your contact information in our system and we will contact you once it has been finished. Thank you for your inquiry.

| I will probably end up looking into this one because for now my riv is at rest with a blown engine. I am planning to buy an Aurora pretty soon and it is not supercharged so, maybe it will improve performance. I figure that for 70 dollars, it may be worth a try just to see if i can get better gas mileage; they say 3-6 mpg, and even if it only increased it 2 mpg, it would be worth the 70 dollars, plus having the benefit of possibly more hp. _________________ 95 rivi s/c bone stock (65k miles) > blown engine; engine swap from another 95 riv (170k) > blown engine again (this time due to oil leaking out)>done with the riv for now, bought a 97 aurora |

| They can do it, but costs $250. I don't think they can do a '95 though. _________________

Yes. They do PCMs for 97-99 rivs. We 96s have to buy open powrtuner software... Which was until recently untested for compatibilty.
I never got a pcm , but i think its worth it to get a tuner. Even if you don't plan on modding much more , its nice being able to optimize and customize everything without sending the pcm back for a reflash. And if you get tired of a setting or just plain don't like it you can change it in about 5 minutes.
AA- i think they cost the same are the rest of the pcms now IIRC. _________________ 1996 Riviera, 82k miles , 3.4" MPS ,FWI , Ceramic P-log ,3" DP, P/P Gen III, STB . DHP tuning. 1.9 rockers to be installed soon. |

| You could be right. Last I checked, ours was considered a "custom tune" with a premium price, so I bought the DHP instead. That was a couple of years ago, though. _________________

| We're talking about a '95 here don't forget.
When I bought my Intense PCM (before I got a tuner) it was $99. The year before when I had inquired about it they said that nobody had done one yet and it would be $400 for them to figure it out. _________________ '98 Buick Riviera; Pulley Boys MPS 3.2, AL 104s, 180 stat, 1.9 H/S-Intense Gen3 rockers, Custom PCM (Powrtuner), headers & HF cat , 42.5 lb inj.
