| AA, How come you stopped logging your progress at this point.? Was just curious, have read through the thread and found it educational and informative even though I don't have any tuning software yet. _________________ 98 Riv, 102K Miles, EBC, LS1 Ft.Calipers, STB, Addco Rr Sway Bar, 180* stat., SSAC Headers, HF Cat, 1.9's, 105# springs, MPS 3.4, DHP tuned by the Deekster.

| In your opinion, do think I should be on the lookout for used DHP or just wait until I can afford HPT. Or should I plan a trip to Ohio and have you upload a tune in my car. j/k _________________ 98 Riv, 102K Miles, EBC, LS1 Ft.Calipers, STB, Addco Rr Sway Bar, 180* stat., SSAC Headers, HF Cat, 1.9's, 105# springs, MPS 3.4, DHP tuned by the Deekster.

| I stopped adding to this thread when I stopped learning and experimenting with tuning the car. It became clear to me that trying to add more fuel in order to run a 3.2" SC pulley wasn't worth doing. Once I got the car on the dyno, I realized that trying to tune for zero KR is not as important as tuning for HP. Everything changed for me at this point, and I'm now happily running the 3.4" with roughly the same tune from '07. I did change the shift program, which I have posted here: http://rivperformance.editboard.com/series-ii-scans-tuning-pcm-f5/shift-points-t3619.htm?highlight=shiftAs for tuning your car, I would be more than happy to hook up and give it a try. We could get close, but it really takes days or weeks to get everything dialed in perfect. If you are happy with "close", I could give it a shot. _________________ |

| Thanks, I would like to duplicate what you did with trans changes. It's obviously working for you. Your able to get the performance you want, when you want it, and the higher gas mileage when you want it also. I really can't wait to adjust the TCC settings, they have bothered me on every GM car I have owned. Constantly tapping the brake pedal to disengage it so as not to lug the engine. The factory settings are not good for the best mileage in my opinion. _________________ 98 Riv, 102K Miles, EBC, LS1 Ft.Calipers, STB, Addco Rr Sway Bar, 180* stat., SSAC Headers, HF Cat, 1.9's, 105# springs, MPS 3.4, DHP tuned by the Deekster.

| TCC and shift points are the easy part of tuning, because they depend less on you car's mods. MAFF tuning is a bit more involved, because you must scan, tune, scan, tune, etc... _________________ |

| I just need to learn and I'm looking forward to it actually. Already have a good base of knowledge on how all is supposed to work, now I need to practice. _________________ 98 Riv, 102K Miles, EBC, LS1 Ft.Calipers, STB, Addco Rr Sway Bar, 180* stat., SSAC Headers, HF Cat, 1.9's, 105# springs, MPS 3.4, DHP tuned by the Deekster.

Thanks very much for the offer but Derek is going to help me soon with some basic tuning. I only live about 50 mins. from him and he has various saved DHP files to try. _________________ 98 Riv, 102K Miles, EBC, LS1 Ft.Calipers, STB, Addco Rr Sway Bar, 180* stat., SSAC Headers, HF Cat, 1.9's, 105# springs, MPS 3.4, DHP tuned by the Deekster.

| I came to the same conclusion. Tried and tried but no matter what I did I couldn't run that 3.2 without KR. The 3.4 no problem. We'll see how the new motor does (once it's running) with the Gen V and VS Cam with the 3.25 pulley that came pressed onto the Gen V. If I can run it without KR I'll keep the 3.25, if not I'm going to swap my MPS back on. _________________ '98 Buick Riviera; Gen V 3.25 pulley, N*, VS Cam, 180 stat, Custom PCM (Powrtuner), headers & HF cat , 42.5 lb inj.
