That's it. It may take 5 years of exposure to heavy acid rain to cause a problem, but if you're GM maybe it's worth designing for the few people who will expose their trunk to those conditions? |

10-4 that... I couldn't understand why they switched from a tilt-switch-socket for the trunk light, to a lever-switch on the lock, and then put the damned light right next to the lock!
Within the first few months I had the car, along with all the other electrical "faux pax's" that I noted in my signature, I attacked that black hole of a trunk... I bought another factory trunk light unit, ran a wire back down from the switch through the loom, and mounted it in a roughly rectangular space in the body beneath the left side of the rear window. So, I have upper-right-rear light, and lower-left-forward light...
I admire your persistence in redesigning the trunk lock. Just don't put the 'emergency' trunk release in the fuel door compartment. The dummies "designed" the damn thing so that anyone with an ATM card can pop it right open. I guess they didn't understand ovals... _________________ 97 Riviera L67 - Desert Sandstone - Gutted AB Lid, Kool Blue AF, 180* SuperStat, Hogan 3" DP, ZZP 3.6" MPS; Sensa-Trac struts, Rockford-Fosgate 6x9's; Annoyance-Fixes: Express-Down delete, Full-time juice to Power Port, BRP-power to Glovebox lite, Brake-to-Shift delete, Console-compartment lite, Seat/Mirror Memory in any gear.

| Primer will be sprayed on the bumper tomorrow........ Then the molds and then paint. I am kind of understating the work left to be done, but things progressing and the car will be done soon. Well the outside of the car will be done soon. Anyway here is the latest..... Nice fit to the headlights and the grill. Two brackets were made to better secure the bumper. More to come _________________ 97 rivi, FWI, 3.5" intense pulley, 180 stat, al104s, eibach lowering springs, tsw 20" wheels, HID conversion, full custom interior (under construction), hand made body kit.
