PostSubject: Silver Arrow 183   Sat Sep 19, 2009 3:38 pm

Ive recently become the owner of a 99' Riviera Silver Arrow without even knowing that it was something somewhat special. I was simply looking for a winter car so I can put my 95' Firebird Formula away this winter. Mine is number 183. Condition is between fair and good. 156k on the clock. How much if any are these cars worth over a regular riviera ?

im no expert and someone will def be able to help u out in greater detail...

u prolly figured out they only made 200....but theyre maybe at least 25% more in value.
such as if u had a 99 riv with 150k on it...it would be like 3-5k if great shape..
silver arrow in similar condition with all the stock knick knacks in the glove compartment and books and pens. then id day maybe 6-7k if ur lucky.

I bought it for $1500.00 from my brothers boss. There are a few booklets in the glovebox. I dont know all that is supposed to be there. I also have to key chains that give the production number and have silver arrow on it. His boss told me he bought it new off the lot so I'm assuming its now only a 2 owner car.

This proves my point that was poo-pooed by a certain member as to these cars popping up and being sold by sellers that don't know what they are.

Nice Score! clap

Thanks haha. I'm probably going to fix the little things it needs I guess and work my way to making it really nice again. This is the best picture I have of it right now. Arent there supposed to be emblems on the rear quarter that say silver arrow?

On your car is that a Riviera emblem or a Silver Arrow emblem on the front part of the door above the molding?

I am not informed sufficiently to correctly answer your question but will divulge what little I recall. Please remember I know next to nothing about the Silver Arrow so this could all be incorrect. poop

After looking at pics of Randall's two Silver Arrows it appears that the Silver Arrow insignia are located on the rear panel but from memory it seems possible that those emblems were sometimes placed in numerous other locations because of the lack of training and or short term memory recall on the assembly line during manufacture of these vehicles. (wow what a screwed up attempt at a sentence) bonk

Well, from what little I know, The Silver Arrow kits were shipped in the trunk of the car to the dealers and installed, supposedly with an instructions sheet, by the selling dealer.
Hence, all the different arrangements from car to car.
I believe the rear quarter panel should have the Riviera emblem, as all of the years do.
And the Silver Arrow emblems placed up front where your current emblems are.

I'm sure Randall can confirm all this for us, as the resident expert on Silver Arrow's.

On my car, silver arrow is on the doors. Nowhere does it say Riviera. Of course the R symbol is on the wheel center caps and on the grill. The trunk lid only has the word Supercharged on it.

Even if it wasn't a Silver Arrow 1500.00 is a very good price for a 99 Riviera with that many miles, naturally depending on the overall condition. So much for finding a winter beater. You may have to buy another car for that purpose.
