| wow... thats a warm welcome well so much as i heard of the last owner. he told that he buyed the car from California. but yes getting parts for it wont be easy for me. cos buick is a GM car, then i think other gm cars parts may be same. In my famely seems that whe have only american cars. they may take a bit more petrol as japanees and germans but....for the extra 1-2liter on 100km(60mile) to bay more...i rather enjoi the driving;)...siting in good seats like sofa and when step on the accelaration pedal then can see..somethign starts to happen hehe. i made a big list of things what where broken on it. it's nice to hear even that i'm new here and ppl don't know me...is still nice to see that here ppl want to help RElly big Thanks for that. And im sure i will need some help on gettign some parts for it in future. here are some things what where broken/missing and ideas what i could do about it. And maybe if somone has had the same problem could give me any advice *ABS light is on and tracsion controll- i looked up the wires what cone to disc brakes and fuses thats all id did so far maybe any ideas why the light is on? *Drivers seat- lether is broken and i decided to change it when i find same coulor lether. *A pilar's clothe as cone loos. but have buyed some new materjal and will change it soon *sunroof makes cracky noise- guess it needs oiling *climacotroll monitors lights are sometimes weak and the buttons lights dont work. opened it and looked inside. lights where ok. dont know atm what to do whit it. *AC is empty. will fill it up, guess there goes 1kg of freoon?+ AC pump oil and coulor? my naber will fill it up. think i will change justicase the AC pumps bearing tho. *fuil 'door' dosent open from button. maybe solenoid broken? dos open from trunk of the wire. *exhaust makes strange sound - well decided to build a 3'' from downpipe till end a new exhaustpipe ...foudn out that the car as 2 lamdas?( or are they in english somekind exhaust gaas sensors? could i delete the cat? whitout making the car move bad? or they need it there? cos the sensors are...1 befor cat and 1 after cat. *need to paint the hood and drivers door. door as deep scratch on it and hood as lost some lack and the aluminium made some bubles there where the mask connects whit hood. *SUPERCHARGER- just a question about that...my dad as a Pontiac bonneville SSEi 95 year....he as the 1 generation supercharged engine..my riv as the 2nd generation. the 1st gen's supercharger makes alot of that 'sound' but my cars charger dosent make teh same sound. cant even hear if it as one working or not. or is it normal? that the 2nd gen charger is qvaiet? Some things i have allready fixed: changed all sparkplugs buted 5W- 40 full syntetic oil, new oil filter. fixed teh electric antenna. Whached the engine and buted a K&F BIG air filter. atm have taken out the whole interjor and cleanign it. will but a new car alarm and install the stereo wires some pictures tho... Engine room befor whaching... ...and after interjor out: peaces cleaned : and one of car: okay guess thats enaf for now will update later |

| Estonia, wow, we Riviera owners are all over the place! How many miles are on that car? It definitely needs some care from everything you said was wrong with it. Is that a cone filter I see? Haha, nice! I'd assume it's cold up by you, but you should look into turning that into a Fenderwell Intake, since sucking in warm air will hurt your already-abused engine. You can build this out of plain old PVC pipe, and the instructions are here: http://rivperformance.editboard.com/series-ii-engine-transmission-f4/write-up-building-a-custom-4-fwi-t107.htm Best of luck to you, and keep those wheels turning!! _________________ 1995 Riviera S/C; 4" Spectre FWI , 6k HID's , Infinity Reference 5022i/9623i speakers 2.25" Thrush glasspacks , 3/4" Thick chrome grille 95,250 miles and so many to go! |

It definitely needs some care from everything you said was wrong with it. it had 140.000miles Is that a cone filter I see? Haha, nice! I'd assume it's cold up by you, but you should look into turning that into a Fenderwell Intake, since sucking in warm air will hurt your already-abused engine. You can build this out of plain old PVC pipe, and the instructions are here: Will make a heatwall of rostfree plate and glue on the cone side a soloplastic.... it dosent let heath through ...and if that stll dosen't help then will do a bit same as in the guide....cut a hole and let the cone into cooler air will go someday to a friend who owns a dyno and builds custom race engines...lives less then half mile from me |

| To answer your question about the Gen I And Gen II Superchargers, yes the Gen II is quieter than the Gen I. This is normal. After you make your cold air intake, show us some pictures of what you made. O.K. Will make a heatwall of rostfree plate and glue on the cone side a soloplastic....
I'm interested in the above mentioned modification. _________________ 98 Riv, 102K Miles, EBC, LS1 Ft.Calipers, STB, Addco Rr Sway Bar, 180* stat., SSAC Headers, HF Cat, 1.9's, 105# springs, MPS 3.4, DHP tuned by the Deekster.

| Travis, I'm confused a little. Did you say you noticed a large increase in performance when going to a warm air intake? _________________ 98 Riv, 102K Miles, EBC, LS1 Ft.Calipers, STB, Addco Rr Sway Bar, 180* stat., SSAC Headers, HF Cat, 1.9's, 105# springs, MPS 3.4, DHP tuned by the Deekster.

| The A/C usually means the compressor seal is leaking, generally we just replace the whole compressor if you really need the A/C. It will be expensive. I think what you cann call Lambda we call "O2 sensor" or Oxygen Sensor. The climate control light bulbs are soldered in, not simple to replace, but if you already have the circuit board out you can probably do it. There is a thread here somewhere about replacing the bulbs with a Radio Shack part number, it is the correct number if you can order from Radio Shack to overseas. Otherwise any small electronics shop might have them, they are just tiny 12v light bulbs on loose wire. _________________ '98 Buick Riviera; Gen V 3.25 pulley, N*, VS Cam, 180 stat, Custom PCM (Powrtuner), headers & HF cat , 42.5 lb inj. | The A/C usually means the compressor seal is leaking, generally we just replace the whole compressor if you really need the A/C. It will be expensive. yes i know and its dificuld to change the bearing. changed one time on my dad's bonneville SSEi. but after change everythign worked fine I think what you cann call Lambda we call "O2 sensor" or Oxygen Sensor. oh okay... but dos it change anything if i take the cat off? and but just a normal 3'' rostfree pipe there? so much as i know the car gets info of the O2 sensor in down pipe that fuil mixture is perfect. not to much fuil or air. but one is after cat... what is it mesuring there? The climate control light bulbs are soldered in, not simple to replace, but if you already have the circuit board out you can probably do it. There is a thread here somewhere about replacing the bulbs with a Radio Shack part number, it is the correct number if you can order from Radio Shack to overseas. Otherwise any small electronics shop might have them, they are just tiny 12v light bulbs on loose wire. Yes i noticed that. when had it open saw it had tiny led lights in there but have not find out yet why they dont want to light.
oh well...today i truy 2 change the car alarm and install amp wres and other wires for sound. and will open the climacontrol board again. will connect it whit car when its open and see whti tester where it dosent get any electricity and signal. i don't belive taht all th LED bulbs could be broken cos leds have a long lifetime and if any would have be broken then maybe just one.
will tell later today if it worked or not |
