Boost Gauge Calculation for HPtuners Scanner Empty
PostSubject: Boost Gauge Calculation for HPtuners Scanner   Boost Gauge Calculation for HPtuners Scanner EmptyMon Mar 10, 2014 11:12 pm

All yall dudes that are scanning/tuning with HPtuners; how did you make your boost gauge?

I made a custom PID that converts MAP kPa to boost PSI by taking the current MAP value in PSI and subtracting 1 bar of atmosphere (14.5 psi) to get my current boost in PSI. But it's not working.

I'm using the formula [PID.11.IMP]-14.5

Any ideas? I'm seeing huge numbers for the boost value and not seeing anything in the range of vacuum and real boost.

No help but I'm pretty sure it didn't work when I tried that either. I did exactly what hpt said somewhere and didn't work for me.

What was your solution, Codith?

Never bothered. I want to know TPS, MAP and MAF Hz. I like to watch MAP to see how much manifold pressure there is. You'll get used to the numbers.

I hear ya, but you'd think a simple formula would convert it to boost/vaccum. I wonder why HPT didnt include it premade in their suite?

Are you sure psi is the imperial unit in the software? You may get strange results if you're converting kpa to inches of mercury. Multiply your MAP times .4911 (convert inhg to psi) before subtracting 14.7
