Rear coolant leak. Empty
PostSubject: Rear coolant leak.   Rear coolant leak. EmptyTue Nov 11, 2014 11:00 pm

Thought I had a freeze plug leak, but after pulling the tranny the aluminum plate covering the rear seal has a hole in it. Tranny mounts are gone so I will be replacing them. Any one have an idea how to get a replacement plate and are there any surprises under that cover?

That plate is part of the rear main seal assembly....it's kinda shaped like a house? Has coolant ports behind it towards the top?

Pictures of the problem, one frivolous picture of my new toy. After installing new tranny mount the car handles way better and is quieter. It is amazing how you get used to bad noise and handling.
