for those who dont already know, torque steer is where one of the front drive wheels is biased durring acceleration causing the car to pull left or right.
imports and semi-performance FWD cars sometimes have this problem.
i was just wondering if anyone has this happen in the riv?
i could pretty much mash the gas from a stop and not touch the steering wheel and it would go straight.(i havent actualy tried that, but i dont ever feel it pull L or R). i dont think i have ever done a one wheel burn out either. so can i assume we have 50/50 distribution from the differental? or is my car just different?
also when i start moving from a stop my steering wheel will turn a few degrees to the left if i'm not touching it. is this normal? it doesnt matter how slow i start off or if im on a hill. it will always angle left, then i straighten it up, and it will go perfectly straight for a long ways. (i dont need an alignment btw)

Neither have I. I have read that after 250hp is when torque steer becomes noticeable.

This problem was more obvious in the late '80s and early '90s FWD cars, with the electronic assist steering our cars have, it isn't there.

Yeah, mine pulls, but doesn't bother me. I can control it with one hand on the wheel, Would probably end up in the wall quickly if I didn't correct it.

Mine doesn't do it too bad, some times it seems worse because of the road services. I have driven a Grand AM Gt and it had a lot more torque steer than our cars.

a 3.0 pulley on e85 tune with out any repairs to the original suspension has scary torque steer. you better be ready when it shifts down to first. lol. it is a million time better now that I have fixed many steering/suspension parts, but it is still noticeable. im glad to see its not just me having this problem.

Mine barely did it (if at all). Same deal with spinning both wheels.

I don't remember torque steer being much of an issue prior to putting in the torsen diff in. Now it's well... exactly like all the reviews describe the fwd focus RS. Check that alignment if it's doin anything goofy

You could say that. It's said that the torsen cures the torque steer inherent to an asymmetrical drive-line situation and I believe it does but what you get in return is more violent, especially with grippy tires and stuff. When you get on the throttle and it downshifts, it does something that i found to be strange and had to really get used to - it suddenly surges somewhere and you need to be hanging on to the wheel and make some correction. That's not a bad thing because it is very affective - the car freakin goes and you can steer it which by contrast never happened with the open diff under power - but yeah, you do need to pay due attention rather than take a nap like you could before
