Been trying for a while to get replacement coil springs for the front of my 88 T-type Riv.

Finally called the dealer, they said there are 3 weight/load codes FLN, FLR, and JYL. Obviously, I am not sure nor can I tell what mine are (ID tags on the springs are long gone), but part number 22197295 are the only springs available and they're fairly certain these will work for my vehicle.

Does anyone have any insight to this? I can get them from GMpartsdirect for $80 a piece.

The springs will more than likely work no problem, as all the springs listed would be the same dimensions, just with different spring rates.

FLN, FLR, and JYL are probably the RPO code for which suspension your car has. It would be listed on the RPO sticker which is probably in the trunk somewhere.

If there's only one spring available, I guess it really doesn't matter which suspension your car originally had.

Thanks. Yeah, I just want to be safe. They were rated for the reattas, caddy seville, and olds trofeo. Those codes were different loads. They read me off the RPO codes that would match. They had numbers in them. So long as they work. smile should be safe. Not like im racin the old girl.
