Hey guys, just picked up a 98 riviera and did basic maintenance so far. Plugs, wires, fuel filter, tranny fluid.
I'm looking to add some decent horsepower, as I know these engines are highly customizable. Will my car run safely with these mods?

-ZZP 1.0 PCM
-180° Thermostat
-Autolite 104 Copper Spark plugs
-ZZP 3 in Downpipe
-3.5 Supercharger Pulley
-K&N CAI Intake

The above link answers your question. Here is the bottom line. If the engine detonates, you will crack the pistons and reduce your engine to boat anchor status. You need to be able to monitor for KR and reduce it to 0 if you want to be safe. Yes, you can make your engine faster but you have to take the required precautions.

Hello Daniel,
While I just love Larry's reply, and I haven't messed with things for a while, I can tell you that everything in my signature has been happy for 5+ years... Having said that, I don't know about tunes from "the other people" 80) Also, my own preference is to just remove the restrictions in our own air boxes rather than go aftermarket. IFIRP, some folks have been drowned by aftermarket intake systems. Oh, and I cannot understand anyone devolving to copper plugs for a daily driver... I just wish the bastards hadn't discontinued the double-tip-platinums that our cars came from the factory with.

...yeah I would not race Eldo.

As for the plugs, mind the heat range and for a daily driver I've been happy with the factory plugs however I think the Champion 9404 Iridiums I currently use are better. Surprisingly they were made in England.
