96 vs 97 Riviera Empty
PostSubject: 96 vs 97 Riviera   96 vs 97 Riviera EmptyMon Sep 19, 2016 12:46 pm

Hello,
What differences would I expect to see between a '96 and '97 Riviera? I assume 96 would have the 4T65E transmission, vs the HD version for '97.
Thanks.

96 has 4T60, 97 has 4T65E. Diff is the output shaft is beefier on the 65 and there were other heavier-duty upgrades as well. Abaddon would be better able to confirm/correct the above and say more.

97 had a different front suspension setup.

97 deleted the stainless trim around the gas/brake pedals, I think. And I think there were ither minor trim and color differences.

I know my '95 and I think '96's also, have stainless steel seat belt buckles for the female end. If you've never seen them before, I think it adds to the interior. I think the plastic ones have a cheap look to them.

96 has different ecu, suspension, color options, seatbelt buckles, and I believe can only have a driver side heated seat also cassette holder instead of cd in the 96
