Just wondering what effect deleting the resonator has..does it increase exhaust flow or is it for exhaust sound.??...thanks  help

Dont do it.it gains nothing but a drone that will drive you crazy and a sound system that you will no longer appreciate.I cut mine open after the delete and there are no restrictions at all.just louvered chambers. been there done that.aint worth it.no power increase at all.jus sayin

The resonator on the Riv acts as a silencer for much of the exhaust sound and generally shifts exhaust sound frequencies a bit. If you get rid of it (or for that matter alter it) you will get a drone about in the middle of bandpass frequencies. You can muffle that with a muffler to get it legal but it is beyond annoying especially at cruise (1250 - 2100 RPM).

As Robo said there is no way the resonator would decrease unnecessarily the exhaust flow. You gotta pipe the exhaust out somewhere somehow, and you're not in a position to install lakespipes... leave it be...

Thanx for all the good info guys...just that i was seeing all theses resonator deletes in the mods i figured it might be a good thing on it's own to do,,Now I know better,,lol....thanx again.. thumbsup
