Belt Alignment Empty
PostSubject: Belt Alignment    Belt Alignment EmptyWed Jun 14, 2017 12:21 pm

Hello everyone. Just wanted to let yall know i have the rivi up and running. New WP (again) and new supercharger, fuel injectors, and Tstat. The only thing that concerns me is that it seems the belts on the WP and the lower tensioner pulley have a bit of side to side movement. i was able to get the belt on the WP to move a little more true but still has a slight movement. i have a feeling its either my HB that is wobbling or the alternator bracket is not flush to the block. anyone ever have this issue before?

Baby still runs smooth as it can with all the other issues i still have though (Control arm bushings, suspension etc.)

Everyone on here has been a huge help and i appreciate you guys.

Without looking at it I'd suspect the tensioner is weakening. Many are marked with a gauge that shows if the tension has weakened enough to warrant replacement, but such gauges differ a little between brands. There are postings elsewhere on this site, and postings out on the web, that show you how to spot a weak tensioner.

You can simply look at the HB in motion and at the security of the alternator mount to tel if those are problems.

Also, make sure that what you think is side-to-side movement is not merely an illusion due to whatever printing or wear is apparent on the back of the belt.
