Does it happen at all speeds? Slow speeds? Try slowing down really slow and listen for the sound out the window. Drive next to a wall to help you listen.

Maybe something is rubbing on the tire. Turn the wheel all the way to the right and use a flashlight to inspect the wheel well. Use your hand to feel around the inside edge of the tire.

Actually, if you look at the inner fender carefully you should find where it is rubbing. Probably lost one of the "christmas trees" that holds the inner fender in place, or you recently installed tires that rub for some reason (my winter tires rub a little)

"Flop-flop" sound when turning Empty

I wonder if this could be a failing CV joint. Is there any noise at all when rolling straight? Do the CV boots have any cracks or leaking grease?

I have a similar sound coming from the left side of my car, comes and goes. Sort of a grinding/chuffing sound. Also a slight howling noise from 70-80 mph. I'm leaning toward one of the CV joints at this point, but at first I thought it was something rubbing the wheel.

Ihavent been here for a while guys, sorry. But in response to you AA, my father in law mentioned to me that it could be a CV joint, but im still not sure. its been so cold outside lately that any thought of car work becomes a daunting thing. but i will take a look at it and let you know exactly what it is.
