| Hey all!! Looking for a spot to share my thoughts and pic some brains with things that come up now and again! I'm running a 1996 Supercharged 3.8 Riviera... plenty of power and smooth as silk in the turns! I'm glad the competition didnt't get thier hands on this speed demon before I did!! LOL Oh by the way.. I have few parts available from the interior and some glass I need to sell too! Thanks! Racing007s | |

| You are my Hero! Well actually Tony Stewart is my hero but you are very cool in my opinion. Tell us what size track, banking, tire size and other rules, what type of vehicles are in your class... I did not know they raced front wheel drive on dirt, not down here anyhow. Tires are the most important part of a dirt track car, get the right tire and figure out the correct air pressure to get your temps right.... Bert | |

Racing007s Is that your first feature win? I always described winning a feature as being like a twenty minute orgasm. Bert

| Yeah.. all that!!! I've been racing about 18 years and this is not my first win but it is for this car and at this track! The track is a little 1/4 mile semi-banked dirt oval. Tires are important but handling is almost as equally as important... plus that blast of fresh air from the supercharger perched on top of GM's 3.8 of course!! LOL
I run against Saab's, Honda's, Pontiac and pretty much any other manufacturers out there. I've seen many different ones!
I'm the webmaster for the track too... www.hammerdownspeedway.com Check it out!

I raced Hobby for seven years but its been awhile. What kind of tire are you limited to? Are the rules for your class online? Bert

| Rules are on the website...
Tires have to be street legal, that's it!
I put a set of 205-55-16's on with the stock rims in the front and have the spare doughnut tire in the left rear for stagger with a 205-60-16 on the right rear! It worked... perfect setup for the first run on the car! Now I'll be looking to more performance from the 3.8 Supercharger and the suspension if anyone has any idea's I'd like to hear'em.

| You're correct on the link not working... Thanks!
It's all fixed now. You're the Man......
I'm heading to check out TonySmooth89's link hopefully for some performance mods I can do on the trailer. The car is box stock now and is basically right off the road... not much to see! I'll post pics this week sometime... It's Pearl White exterior.

| Do you use low gear only, or second? What RPM range does the motor run at? Sounds like you got it and are kickin butt. Bert | |

| Once the interior and uneeded parts removed it must be somekind of almost light for a 17+foot car. | |

| Welcome! A circle track rivi, that's pretty badass. Any chance you still have the center console (the compartment itself+lid) | |

| It's all there... But currently it is all that keeps me planted in the slick leather drivers seat. When you say "the compartment itself+lid" are meaning the hinged lid under my elbow of course plues the inside part under that lid or do you mean the whole console from the front under the dash back to the backside of the seats that the shifter comes out of?
Little confused... | |

| I scaled the car after the race and it weighed in at a modest 2985, I know, I need to work on getting it lighter for speed.... but the 17+ feet of girth didn't seem to bother at all on the track! I pitty the little Honda that wipes out in front of me because I'm playing thru... LOL
Not much stopping me except those disc brakes if I want.... LOL

| Wow, less than 3000 lbs?! Did you take out anything besides the interior? Like the A/C? Window motors? I'm impressed, I did not think the Riv could be made that light. I wonder how much you'd save by replacing the driver's seat and center console with a lightweight racing seat. As little as Rivi's are going for these days, maybe I should build me a straight up road warrior version | |
