Warning Re: Car Wash Bays Empty
PostSubject: Warning Re: Car Wash Bays   Warning Re: Car Wash Bays EmptyWed Mar 07, 2007 1:20 pm

Ever go to a car wash bay and see a few piles of mud on the floor? Probably where some big truck sprayed off the remnants of last night's off-road adventure, right? Probably. I usually roll over, thinking nothing of it.

But today I'm washing off the wheels and notice there's some shiny stuff on the tires that won't rinse off very easily. Upon closer inspection, I see that a few metal objects are embedded in my tires!

Warning Re: Car Wash Bays Shavings5

I look back at the pile of "mud" and this is what I see:

Warning Re: Car Wash Bays Shavings2

Lesson learned. I won't be rolling though any piles of anything anymore. I made me mad, but can't really blame anyone for it. Just gotta watch out next time... quiet

wow that sux, did you plug it or did it not punch all the way through?
off topic, but why is the rubber piece that sits between the KYB and spring all deformed looking? maybe its just the cameras angle dunno

Don't think it puched through, as it was in the think of the tread, and tires are new. We'll see in the next few days.

The rubber between the spring and the strut? You mean this?

Warning Re: Car Wash Bays ABSbrakebrackets

(took this pic before I changed out the strut. That's the way it looks stock.)

yea, its all warped. mayeb your 98 has a different part than mine b/c mine is thin and sits flush with the strut plate. and my spring is always down on the rubber where yours is lifted from the strut.
just an observation, i'm not saying anything is wrong with it, i just like spoting out the differences between years.

oh and fyi that little flap on the left side of the strut (on the fender next to the 2nd coil) is where the sun roof drains out. there is a hole in the front corners of the sun roof and the pipe exits out a hole behind the flaps on both sides of the car.

I'm guessing somebody sprayed out the bed of their pick-up. Tires are okay. No harm, no foul.

Yeah, well for $1.25 I can spray the salt off my car on my way back from lunch, and I don't have to trust some kid touching my paint or scratching my wheels. happy

I wax once, maybe twice per year, and my paint is holding up very well for a car that's never seen a garage.
