Does our Riviera's have a TCC fuse that I can pull to prevent lock up?

...and will disengaging the TCC solenoid hurt the car?

You can always just lift off and then give it more gas. Its probably easier on the trans that way too. Your gas mileage will probably decrease noticeably especially on the highway without TCC. Or you could always do more exhaust mods , like headers or a plog , 2-3* of knock could probably be killed with a plog or tune.

I'll try that thanks....

I can't do any more mods until I move or the wife will kill me...
...then I'll be saying this:

I think your KR will be hard to get rid up without actually changing the TCC lock-up behavior. As mentioned, you can let up on the gas, or you can tap the brake with your left foot while your other foot is on the gas. Both will unlock TCC. It always annoyed me to do this, though.

A tuner fixes the problem by changing the TCC lock-up speeds. TCC locks-up, but unlocks at the slightest throttle increase - you get your cake, and can eat it, too. Ask Dave G. how his TCC lock-up works on the freeway.

Warning: TCC is there for a reason. Besides maximizing fuel economy, it keeps trans fluid temps down. This is why you want a trans cooler when pulling a trailer in 3rd over long distances. My trans failed because the TCC lock-up solenoid became stuck off, my trans overheated, and then death soon after. They said my TC was blue.

What temps should my transmission be at on average?
When I went to my Uncle's last weekend, 100 miles+ one way, my tranny was between 208 - 220* on a 74 - 78* day...

His is a 96 , you can't adjust the TCC lockup with a tuner.

Seems a bit high , mine always seems to stay between 180 and 190 on a 90 degree day , until i started getting on it. Mr. Rivieras was running around 200-210 IIRC. How fast were you going though? I'm sure high speeds will affect temp.

Those temps are normal in August with hills. Change the fluid if you like, but don't worry about 210. 220 is getting hot. Over that and I'd slow down a bit.

Remember back when you didn't have the Aeroforce gauge? And people wonder why they have car problems...
