PostSubject: Scan numbers...   Scan numbers... EmptyMon Sep 01, 2008 6:56 pm

After I did all my mods, replaced filters, plugs, wires and fluid etc., I just did my first real scan on the aeroforce gauge using the parameters listed below.

It was a run from 0 - approx. 70 mph. Had traction problems from launch and the outside temperature was 79*

Can any of you guys make any sense of these numbers and give me a diagnosis?

It's hard for me to really read these numbers too accurately. It may be easier in a table but it definitely looks like you're lean. It looks to me that where your major KR spike happens (3.2) your O2's are at 890 and should be closer to 915-920. LT FT also show the lean condition they should be at 0. That's about the way my scans looked before I tuned and after I did some mods.

It's also hard for me to make any suggestions based on that - can you scan using MAF Hz and MAP KPA instead of 'boost'?

I'd consider adding a little fuel to the MAF table where the O2s are in the high 800s, agreeing with Bob there. Also scan for IPWs so we can be sure you aren't maxing out your injectors.

hahaha! no....running 93 octane....

I just changed the fuel filter before this scan. One thing I noticed after the change was an increase of my RPM at idle.....normally I would see numbers between 695 - 750, after the filter change my RPM's shot up to 950+....could this effect my scan? Maybe the PCM was relearning??

This morning the idle was back to normal....

I thought so too....

the only thing I can think of is that the old Fuel Filter was the original (and by the looks of it, it might have been) with 121000 miles on it or so...

maybe it was so filthy it was limiting the normal flow and the PCM adjusted to it? Then when I put on the new filter the flow was restored and the PCM had to take the time to relearn?

Chicken, that's absolutely possible re the fuel filter, since it could have been affecting fuel pressure etc... Also you might have dirty injectors. I was surprised how much smoother my engine ran when I put in new injectors.

Want to have my stockers cleaned/flowed? Costs about $80 and you can have the old injectors. See if it makes any difference. Only stipulation is you then have to offer your stock injectors for the same price to someone else who will carry it on lol

I agree..try a new scan after the pcm has adjusted.

If you don't want the injectors Chicken, Id like em and will continue the same deal to whoever wants mine.....or I can wait for yours if you do.

Id rather not have the downtime of waiting for mine to be cleaned and re installed.

Thanks Deek, but before I do fuel, my next mods are headers, new exhaust and a programmer....so I'm gonna have to pass....

...I think I'll add some seafoam to the fuel though....

Something weird is happening to my Riv.....the RPM's have settled back to 725 - 750

...now on my way home (I usually take the same route every day and scan for knock) there was no knock on the hills! Usually, when climbing these hills my TCC would lock and I would see 2 - 3* of knock...

no knock...none...and it was 86* outside. My Riv has never felt or sounded better since I owned it...

...All this because of a fuel filter change?
