1997 Riviera. Owner said it did this since he's owned it so he figured it was normal. I don't know if it is... Anyone else have squeeky locks on their Riv and what did you do to fix it? I sprayed silicone lube in the keyholes and the lock hatches on the door sides. That seemed to quiet down the DS door but not the PS one. neutral

My locks kind of go "ka-chunk" and do not squeak at all. I suspect the inside ofthe door got wet. You'll have to pull the door panel and lube the control rods with tune-up grease or syl-glide.

For door lock mechanisms, I use graphite powder instead of liquid lubes. Probably won't help the squeaking, but just fyi.

There is a write up on how to remove the door panels(looks very easy) if you search and dont find it just let me know and I will dig it up for you.

So I took the door panel part off yesterday and soaked the lock mechanism in graphite lube. Today there is no more squeak. Go figure. smile
