Hi guys I just recently purchased a 1995 Supercharged Riviera for 1750.00. So far so good. It does have a service light that comes on after I start the car and drive it a bit. I know I need to get the codes read. Ill do that probably in the next few days. I think it needs a tune up also and it seems to vibrate a little in drive. It does idle around 750 though. I wanted to ask a few questions if you guys dont mind. Ive checked all the fuses and found only one blown, and it was for the shocks to level the car but they sounded kinda rough so I just took the fuse back out. I cant seem to find why the mirrors wont work with the switch every thing else does. Also the trunk and hood lights arent working so maybe Im missing something. The car sitting still runs about 225 on the temp is this normal? The other thing I've read that is common is that on the drivers side the air works but blows hot on the passenger side. Should i start with the actuator behind the glove box? I know this is a lot of stuff but Ive read for 3 days and seem to have found most of the answers just want someone to chime in. I also read about a breaker under the passenger seat maybe for the mirrors but thats just a guess. Thanks for your time and any help would be great.

225 sounds in the ballpark to me. I haven't paid any attention to it in years. It's so reliable I just assume everything will always work wink

For your hot air problem, can you see the actuator to watch it and tell if it's working when you cycle through the vent positions (i.e.air comes out beneath the dash, through the dash, the top of the dash)?

Push down on each corner of the car and see how much it bounces before stopping. If it bounces more than once your shocks need to be replaced.

Does your passenger side mirror tilt down in reverse? I assume you've read the instructions in the manual about how to adjust the mirrors?

Welcome aboard. I'm sure you'll be happy with the car once you work through the basic maintenance issues.

Hello, Travis. Welcome. I think the best way to solve all of your issues is for you to post your problems inside the appropriate threads, or if you can't find the right info, start a few new threads in the correct forums. This way we can be more specific and better help you out. Here's a few links to get you started:

welcome!

to me, 225* is too hot, even for a stock riv. get a 180* t-stat, flush the cooling system and check the hoses.

did you run an ohm meter across all the fuses?
btw, hood lights only work if the headlights are on. are the bulbs good?

for the a/c there are like 5 blender doors (actuators) i dont have a clue which one controls what, but one or more probably doesnt open all the way.

jack, reverse mirror tilt wasnt an option until 1997.
