here in europe would get into trobble for tinting lights :/

i built the gt40 it was a kit car from the late 1960 it was pretty fun but i got a baby coming soon so i sold it. i post some night pics of the lights soon. i talked to a cop and ask him if it was to dark and he told me they are 100% legal

yes tint is legal. but it can be used as an excuse to stop you. for whatever reason. this tid bit of info came from a bud of mine in the NYHP. but im sure everyone knows this. i have tint. couldnt live without it in vegas...

It all depends on your state's laws. Southern states are much more lenient to tint than northern states.

One of the first things I did after buying this car was to have tint installed.
Unfortunately here in MA, the Nanny State, I wasn't able to get the darker tint that I wanted legally. The Police and other Gov't agency's are exempt, but us little people can only get a light tint for drivers and pass. windows (don't know percentages) and a bit darker on rear windows.
The darkest he was able to put on legally is what i got. I think it definitely helps in the summer.
I lived down south for about 12 years and got used to having dark tint on everything I drove, even the windshield of my motorcycle was tinted.
While in Texas (5 years) I paid the installer cash and ignored their laws and got Limo tint on all windows except the Driver and Pass.windows, but still went with darker than legal. Never got pulled over or had an inspection sticker problem.
Here if I paid cash and got darker tint I was sure to get pulled over and fined. Also the annual inspection would have failed me as they use a device to measure the darkness. Forget what it is called.

Rick, I know a town in southern NH that will pull you over if you are doing +1 and fine your for having any tint that's not factory. Everybody obeys the speed limit in that town... Fortunately it's in between nowhere 1 and nowhere 2 so you don't have to go through it unless you have to. But the stories I've heard...
