Removinong Factory Dash Kit Trim?

I got a quick question. I just purchased a dash kit for my riviera. The problem is the dask kit I purchased is a different colour than what my factory trim is already (around the shifter and the consonle, cd player unit). I try to tugg on it to see if it will remove easy but no luck. Does anyone know how to get these trims off? Thanks
