Auto Headlights and Temp sensor Empty
PostSubject: Auto Headlights and Temp sensor   Auto Headlights and Temp sensor EmptyMon Jul 12, 2010 3:07 pm

I just bought a 95 SC Riv and everything inside works except for the outside temp sensor and the auto headlights. I haven't really dove into it, but I just wanted a few pointers to start on. The temp sensor seems to read in the 120's*, this is really just an annoyance, but it may be an easy fix. The thing I really would like fixed is the auto headlights, its one of the things I've come to like on a car. The headlights work fine manually, but don't work with the auto.

Outside temp sensor sounds like it's broken or disconnected. It's under the front bumper, look around you can't miss it, should be black. If your car was repainted it might have been painted over (which makes them inaccurate).

auto headlights probme may be an open or short in the sensor (I am not sure which, probably a short) and may be as simple as replacing the sensor.

I think there are posts explaining both of these, just use the 'search' function.

Uhhh, I actually did search after I posted, sorry. Its really amazing how you can't find something right in front of your face.....

The car was in a front end collision and the front bumper cover is loose, so I think that might be the problem. I'll look into testing the sensor with my multimeter too. Thanks.
