multifunction switch connector differences

I found a cheap alternative on E bay for a replacement multifunction switch.problem is you have to know which connectors your have to order it.seems like one style is square and the other is a long narrow rectangle.since i've already had the dash apart twice doing stereo work and tightening up the column,i don't really want to tear it apart again till I have the part.Is this a year to year thing or is there two different ones used in the same year?Also will one out of an Aurora work?several of them in my local pull a part but no rivs.

For what it's worth, it looks like the Aurora uses wiring and connectors that are totally different - 2 large rectangular connectors instead of 1...

The three years I have had apart,'95/'97/'99, all have what looks like the same connector, long rectangle, but I do know that the wiring is different for the '95-6 than it is for the '97-9.
I don’t have my manuals with me so I can’t look them up but if someone would want to do you a favor they could scan the view of the connector you need and you would be able to “see” what it looked like. If you don’t find what you need in the next couple of weeks let me know and I’ll see if I can find it for you.

The wiring must have changed when the DRL's were added...

Weren't DRL's mandatory in Canada even back in 95.??????

Thanks very much for posting that. It's a very good price compared to what i've seen in the past.

Too bad they won't or don't fit the later model years.

Mine works but is faded and the the feature that lets you just slightly push down or lift the lever for a lane change doesn't work on mine.

Not that big of a deal, i just have to activate the lever completely to do a lane change. But I was somewhat concerned that this may be the sign that the switch assembly is on it's last legs and would like to have a replacement ready for when the day comes.

but maybe I'm being overly cautious as it's been this way for the past few years.

i took it to mean they are selling two different styles of switches,the one pictured and one with a different style connector on the end.I think ill email them and get a clarification.I don't want to drop that kind of coin on the wrong part or cause anyone else to.

Definitely a good deal for pre-97 guys!

Rick, I don't think ANY of our cars has a functioning lane-change feature - The damn thing is the opposite of the previous, round-column switches, which were too 'tight'... Mine has been impossible to find without clicking into full turn-signal mode since I bought the car at 69,000 miles.
