i need help for my bro!!!

he just recently bought a 95 riviera supercharged,, the guy that had it said he had not used it for a while.. it was just sitting in his garage..... everytime we try to turn on the car it hesitates to start.... if i dont step on the gas pedal all the way in or keep pushing it the car wont start.. what can we do to fix this...i was thinking he needed a tune up maybe change the spark plugs but hes only 16 and he spent all his money on the car.. lol

You could start by getting a scan done to see if there are any DTCs. A fresh tank of gas with some fuel system cleaner would be my next move. Then plugs if that doesn't fix it.

I would say its defintly some where in the combustion phase .ether jets are clogged so fuel cleaner like seafome in with about 6 gallans of gas and run it . Two depends on how long it sat if it was more then 6 months defintly would pop out a spark plug or two and check them to see if they need to be replace spark plugs and air filter. I say Air filter cause when i got mine of my boy it sat for 3 months pretty much and there was a begining of a nest in it. Have you checked the oil two? if its black and thich change it. Also a fuel filter would be nice.

if its sat for 6mo then it needs an oil change.
btw gas goes bad after about 30 days without stabilizers, so a tank of 93 and a new air filter would do well.
fuel filter is a good idea b/c it's probably never been done. my next step would be plugs, and if all of those dont fix the start-up hesitation then check the battery and starter.
