4t65e swap question

I have a 97 Riv, I recently bought a trans from a 98 the plate part number reads 24204122, the part number on my old trans is 24210157 all the webbing hook ups and mounts are correct I want to know will these swap

Best to ask a good GM parts counterman - the parts system will tell him or her what's up.

One thing to be aware of is that GM part numbers as stamped on the parts are not necessarily the part catalog numbers, but may be an "engineering" number related to a manufacturing run of a certain part. For instance there might be two suppliers of a plastic part like an escutcheon or vent louvers. The part may only have the engineering number on it or it may have the part number and the engineering number. Point is that the parts person should have an engineering <--> RPO parts reference. Sometimes parts have only the engineering number stamped/molded onto them.

Another reason for the number difference might be prior replacment.

If I were you I'd find that counter person (parts dept manager? ) and ask.
