Welcome and be sure to add your car info to your signature, and to go have at least a quick look at the old posts for your year/engine.

congratz on the car!

Problems to look for : oil pan and valve cover gaskets leak, S/C is probably ready for a rebuild,( Tensioner and pulleys, Cvs Any car) Rear trans mount and front motor mount. not sure on 96 but lowwer intake gaskes on the sieries II, Check for the air shocks to work... i find nothing too major with these cars... love the ride and straight line power, looks like nothing on the road and still has nice curves compaired to new cars smile a few other common problems here and there but i think i hit most of the majors. I would change the brake fluid, trans filter and fluid (minus whats in the converter) and PS fluid, Super charger oil, maybe even the anti freeze smile

WELCOME ABOARD !!! Ask those questions, you'll find plenty of help here.

Southern Indiana? Are you an Indiana fan or a Kentucky fan? Basketball rules in that part of the country. Right?

Good Day Everyone
Seen this site on Rock Auto when I was ordering some new ignition parts for my 90 ford F150 plow truck. I live in North-Western Ontario,Canada and purchased a 97 Riviera 5 years ago in Ohio.White Diamond Tri-Coat,moonroof ,Supercharged ,full wood dash option,Gold package, Aurora Chrome wheels,(have the original 12 spoke wheels in the garage in perfect shape)80,000 miles never winter driven, stock, except the K&N air filter and rear spoiler which really sets it off.Yes I have been asked many times what kind of car it is,even if it was a rolls once.I will be Checking this site a lot and it looks great!
