I had an insurance claim for some of the work and my brother had a contibution to a little of the reason for the repaint and he kicked in and had the whole car repainted. I think there is a paint match issue, which a total repaint solves. I wish everybody had a brother like mine. | |

What other years did the emblem come on? I'm not sure, but it might be a first generation item. The trishield emblem swings to the left to reveal the trunk lock on the 65 I know for sure. I looked for a pic of the 63 and 64,but didn't see rear shots.........  | |

aside: I had a calendar with a '65 Riv in it when I was a kid and I stopped changing the month after that pic was there. Not too different from that picture above, although it showed the clamshell headlights. The headlights (and dual-quad carbs of course) were one of my favorite things on that car. Even then, long before I knew any difference between Buick, Chevy, Ford, whatever... I had a love for the Riv. The '65 has been one of my dream cars since before I knew cars! | |

| I had the paint start peeling off the roof of my '98' and took the advice to have it repainted the same color of the '65'...seafoam green.it looks pretty decent. I'll have to get some pics now that it's not winter........  | |
