| I am looking for a fuel pressure meter to test fuel rail pressure at WOT. This means I need a gauge that I can install on my schrader valve that will remember max pressure during a WOT run. Does anyone know if the following product will accomplish this? LINK It has a pressure release valve, but not sure what is its purpose with the clear tubing on there.... _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| when all the pressure builds up and "HOLDS there" what you need to do is "relieve the pressure" which is what the clear tube is for..... its kinda cool i did it on a camaro in class before | |

| Okay, thanks. So it will hold the pressure until I can stop the car, get out and read it after a WOT run. Hope this thing doesn't leak! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| That guage will not remember maximum pressure. Their is no check valve between it and the fuel rail. To say that you truely get maximum pressure at WOT is an assumption I'm not 100% sure about. You would pretty much have to hold the gauge outside the engine compartment and read it while you drive. The purge valve/hose is only to make disconnecting safer.
I've have pretty much the same thing and I've hooked it up to the riv - No leaks. Just be careful not to bump the purge valve with it connected.

| I was told by INTENSE to measure fuel pressure at WOT. They have some sort of gauge that can do this, but I don't know what they use.
There's no way I'm going to route this thing outside the engine bay while driving. Using a hose that long might throw off the accuracy, imo.
Can't believe there are no fuel pressure gauges out there that can remember a peak reading. I could just install a check valve between the guage and the hose, right? _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| When I tested mine, I ran a hose long enough to reach my windshield (approx 3') and ziptied the guage to the wipers so I could read it from inside the car while driving. Temporary only!! Accuracy does not diminish through with a longer tube. Good luck not spraying fuel- it always scared me when mine puked fuel on my hot headers when I connected/disconnected. | |

| the only thing I could recommend is the setup I have. (although doesnt bill have one of these gauges on his new SS fuel lines?) https://2img.net/h/i20.photobucket.com/albums/b246/billboost37/Fuel%20Pump/IMG_3035.jpg
Setup is just an electric fuel pressure gauge mounted in the cab. I used a SS fuel hose from the schrader valve to the fuel sender in the engine bay. It doesnt have a memory (im pretty sure more expensive electric fuel PSI do though) but I can easily glance a view of my fuel psi at WOT. Its usually about 60 BTW.

| You should disconnect the vacuum line when setting your fuel pressure regulator. For WOT testing you need a sending unit type gauge or something that Tees into the fuel line. I suppose if the hose were long enough the thing you showed would be okay - we used a similar setup with the gauge taped to our windshield to eventually figure out we needed more fuel pump for my bro's 455. A different animal I know but we were having lean issues up top and actually ended up installing a second fuel pump triggered by a gas pedal switch... !!
Anyway, how long is the hose on that thing? Find something similar with a longer hose, or get an electric sending unit.

| The longer hose version is for older cars, and only goes up to 30 PSI. The unit I have is designed to connect the schrader valve on the front rail. Guess I need an extension hose?
Looking at fuel check valves. Cheapest I can find is $65! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| Yeah you don't want a check valve for that anyway. You're not interested in the highest FP, you are interested in watching it at WOT. You want to see if it stays high or not. | |

| Anyone know where I can find a 4-6' long fuel-safe hose to thread onto my schrader valve and feed the pressure meter? I like the idea of taping it to the windshield. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

I had one of those that I bought for my GN years ago. It was pre made with the fitting on one end and a FP gauge on the other. I think I got it from Cottons Performance. Bert

maybe?
its what I used. I had to call them to verify that one end does in fact fit onto a schrader valve. The other one goes to a sender unit or straight to the gauge (which would need to be mounted outside the cab for safety reasons)

| Installed the "pillar" fuel gauge today: Above is after sitting with engine off, so apparently no leaking injectors. Here's 44 PSI at idle: 50 PSI at mild throttle: and 68 PSI at WOT, top of 1st gear: Seems the fuel pump & filter are good! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| Well, I don't have any video capture software here, so I just used apple+shift+4 to drag a box around the paused QT window. Easy to upload JPEGs to Photobucket in about 2 minutes, no need to YouTube it. Saved me the hour it takes to edit a movie and upload on dial-up. Can't do that on a PC! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |
