| I just put new Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring tires (235/55R17) on the Riv. Looks and rides much better now. In fact there was a noise in the suspension (strut bearings I think) that has disappeared when cornering. Not sure why, but a nice bonus! Next project will be struts. I was considering the Monroe Quick Strut but am not sure if I want to after reading this thread: https://rivperformance.editboard.com/t9615-monroe-quick-strut-complete-strut-assembly | |

| You can't beat those tires for the price. I install those on a lot of our used cars here at work. I've actually got the GTZ-ZR version of those on my car now. They ride nice, and they're quiet. | |

| Don't get the Monroes. You already found the thread. They decided the Quick Strut for some other models would apply to the Riv, and it doesn't. Wrong spring rate. | |

| Very nice looking Riv you have there, Pat. I have very similar rims on my 3000GT. How many miles on your car? | |

| I got her with 107,000 km (about 66,000 miles). Great shape. just got it 3 weeks ago so only a few miles since. - ghpcnm wrote:

| Thanks for the advice. I'm glad I found this forum. I would've been very disappointed if I installed the Quick Struts and found the ride height too high. The beauty of the Riviera is that it is low and long. too high would look bad. - deekster_caddy wrote:

| Thanks. Too bad they can't get it right at Monroe. I forwarded the link to their website and asked if they plan on addressing the problem. Will post their response.... - deekster_caddy wrote:

| Thanks! I'm leaning toward new OEM GM Struts and original springs. I don't want to take a chance on a improper ride height. Thoughts?..... - ZEP wrote:

You can't go wrong with OEM, in my opinion, unless you're wanting some kind of high performance track suspension. | |

| BTW Monroe still makes an excellent strut. I have no problem with those. Just don't get the Quick Strut unless they give the Riv it's own part number. | |
