Hello there everyone and nice to meet you all I own a 1997 buick riviera

Hello there everyone it's nice to meet you all  I own a 1997 Buick Riviera with a 71,000 mile engine. My mother got it for my 21st birthday. It's my very first car and I fell in love with it and I nicknamed it The Phantom. I want to learn everything about my car and share my experiences and talk to fellow Riviera fans. I'm happy that I found this awesome forum.

My daughter will begin her college freshman year in three weeks with a 97.

You will find plenty of useful info here. 95% of my problems have been solved here, while the other 5% either solved themselves or were easy fixes.

i had mine for a few months before i found here. mines also a 97 and has had a too tough life that includes among other things gettin hit by a deer, then after that repair was done gettin takin out by a semi! hope you have better luck with yours. lol

Man That's sucks I had a old engine had about 196,362 miles on it before my mom bought the car for my b-day. About 3 months later it's blow 3 rods and my mom's friend got me a new engine with 71,000 miles for a b-day and Christmas combine for $500.00. She said I don't have to pay her back. The new engine is installed now and my car runs like new again.

Welcome Rachel and congratulations on the new riv! Also congrats on being a most unlikely target market candidate for this car; it's nice to see some young females still love personality-rich cars and not just transportation appliances.

I think I did a good job of raising my daughters. One drives a Volvo C70 hardtop convertible and the other drives a John Cooper Works Mini.

hows the riv comin rachel?

it's doing good ^^ I'm in college right now and it's driving like a new car. I live in the dorms as of now and it's feels good to have a car with you while your in college.
