Whats the normal operating.temps for the series 2 trans? My engine temp.was183 and my trans temp.reached 203 today, stop and go.traffic, for about 35 minutes

That's not a surprising number given the tiny OEM trans cooler. On long drives I find the trans temp ends up about equal to the coolant temp with an external cooler out front. But in stop and go it will always creep significantly higher - no lockup, less airflow.

That's normal. I think up to 250F is safe for the trans. With a trans cooler, I usually see 160-190 after installing the cooler. The trans heats up very gradually, so on very long trips you will see higher temps before it levels out.

With the cooler, my trans actually gets cooler when I sit idle and in stop/go in traffic.

175-225* is ideal operating temperature for ATF.  At 250*, bad things begin to happen.  Synthetic fluid is much better at dealing with heat.  An auxiliary cooler will significantly increase the life of your transmission if you do a lot of "spirited driving"

Awesome thanks. Im not hard on the gas too often unless i have to drive around a holes down here. As long as thats nornal im happy, now to find that bearing.noise
