| I have an orion 280gx 2 chan amp running as a mono that was bridged by bestbuy when installed but now I hear you can't do this without the 400bdg. Is this true??? If so what the hell did best buy do??? And more important how do I fix the problem,,,,,if there is a proplem. | |

| The manual for that amp is HERE. It appears that you can bridge the amp only down to 4 ohms. Refer to Page 5 of that manual.... | |

| Thank you so much for the info. Now I need to go to best buy and ask them how they bridged this amp without the 400bdg and just how much push I'm really getting from this setup!!!! I see your running orion amps Scott? what is your set-up. I have infinity sub with my non-bridgeable 280gx that I got from my nephew without the 400bdg ( bad nephew) I think I need a completely new system. Maybe orion sub and amp. What about the box,,,,,ported or closed???? | |

| I'm using an Orion D1200 Mono Block hooked to two 12" 4 ohm DVC's. The Amp is bridged (and extremely stable) to 1 ohm. Unfortunately, they don't make this amp anymore. It's a little beast. I'm also using a sealed enclosure. I tried using a ported at first. It wasn't bad, but the sealed sounds WAYYYY better in the Riv. It all depends on what subs you're running I guess. I actually need a bigger Amp. The Infinity DVC's are 1200W each...they're only getting 600W each max. I'm actually scared to put a bigger Amp in. These things shake my dash, pop the center console open, and make my ear drums flutter. I'm eventually going to get something along the lines of a Hifonics BRZ2100.1D. | |

| Thanks for the info, that's more than an old man can latch on to. But the sealed vs unsealed DEPENDING on amp makes good copy for research. I know when I improve my sub set-up the head unit and need for a 4 chan amp MUST be close behind. I'm putting a set of tweeters mounted on the door panel up high using pvc fittings is my next project. It won't look " cool" but I don't really care so much about that. I'm way too old to worry about cool anymore.!!!!! | |

| Which Infinity Sub are you using? I guarantee you it doesn't sound nearly close to what it should without that bridging module that it need. According to the manual, your Amp only pushes 80W continuous power at 4 Ohms. It would push 320W with the module in place (at 4 Ohms). If I recall, the lowest RMS rating for an Infinity sub is 300W..... | |

| Now you make an old man cry!!! Y U do dat !!! lol How old is old u may ask. Well, my first system was a 2 channel 8 track with the front speakers being the left cannel and the rear being the right. Than we would use the balance (as a fader did not exist as there was not 4 channels ) to "center" the sound. It worked well for the tech that we had. Think about it. Do u REALLY need 4 channels as we only have two ears. My infinity is a 10" sealed in a logitech box. If the amp is 80w x 2 how will bridgeing it get 320w instead of 160w Educate me please, I'm not too old to learn yet. I think the REAL question here is '''''''what did bad nephew do with the module'''''''if he ever had one'''''''''or where do I get another'''''''or how do you rewire this amp'''''''if you indeed can. BY the way this infinity does not have the sw from 2 to 4 omh its that old | |
