I would like to put my infinity 10.1 on the door panel high up and in front of the vent where I have a flat surface to mount BUT I would like to know what's behind that location without removing the door panel first. Will I hit a support for the door back there? I have considered using a double sided carpet tape so as not to drill holes in the panel. I think the tape would work but I don/t know how easy it is to remove later as this car will be sold someday. thanks Oh and by the way I'm not trading my silver bullet sub as I have "bad nephew" looking for the 400bdg in his junk pile so I can bridge the 280gx. by by

Have you considered just sticking the tweeters in one of the door vents? They might be easier to remove one day when you sell the car

Yes I'm looking at that location. To be equal I would need to place the left one in the pass side temp on location. And I'm not sure the tweets will fit in the vent location as they are 1" in diameter. I'm considering on top of the door panel mounted in pvc 3/4 inch 90 degree using carpet tape to mount them. This could be removed with alcohol I think. Seems much easier than taking the vent and the pass temp indicator out.

Hm that's an interesting idea... would you close the other open end of the 90 degree piece off / keep it white? It sounds like it'd be very temporary. Always wished that there were tweeters closer to ear-level instead of being way down in the doors.

The two back pillars need some attention if you ask me if you can get them in or right in the back seat walls if you can get them without breaking

I gave up on the pvc idea when I heard how the tweets sounded in the upper location compared to the original placement in the doors. The 3/4 pvc would have been capped and the tweeter mount screwed into the cap. So//// cap/// 3/4 in 90 deg//// another cap mounted on the upper door panel.
I have infinity 2 way now so I added the I" tweet and set the button on the 2 way in which reduced the output by 3 db. BUT now I would say it is best to get component speakers in the first place and be done with it. far to many variables trying to ADD another set of tweets. The difference is not that great really. Component's all around and beer for my horses!!!
