Hey everyone!

Just purchased a '98 Riviera supercharged last week. 174,000 but seems to have been reasonably taken care of. Someone went to the trouble to put in an aftermarket power sunroof. I know these could be had w/ a factory sunroof, this isn't. Good deal, at least one of the previous owners wasn't shy about spending money on it.   This car replaces my beloved Grand Marquis after a bad, bad encounter with a deer.

Seems like a good car so far. I've got a few gremlins to chase down, and maybe ask some of y'all about. Cosmetically, I need to find a few interior bits. The clear coat is going, nothing I can do about that. I figure I'll give the car a few months to see what I think. If I'm still impressed, it gets painted.

Aftermarket sunroof? Pictures please.

In a couple of days. My car as at the office and I'm driving my company car. I'm usually in the field at my job, so it may be a couple of days before I'm back near the office. High end parts and work, not a hack job.

As long as it was done right there's nothing wrong with it at all. I've just never seen it done before, let alone on our cars.

No, the used car lot I used to work at got it at auction. Came from Airport Honda, so I'm guessing it was a trade in.

Looks pretty clean. Is it fully loaded (heated seats, memory mirrors, etc)? Can you get more pictures of the sunroof if you're sure it is aftermarket?

Hah I wonder if they traded it in because the door handles broke!

Had a few issues when we got it at auction, I'm guessing traded for something fairly new. Airport Honda doesn't have much of a used section.

Replaced door handle and the driver's side window motor and regulator at the lot, this was before I bought it, or was even in the market for a car. Wouldn't have traded my Mercury for this thing in a million years, just in too good of shape to get rid off, but since it was totaled...

I've replaced a pair of pulleys, the supercharger works now. Front brakes, one weak ignition coil, and a couple of other routine maintenance items.

Picked up a HVAC controller at Pull A Part, since this one is burned out. Hoping the heat works right after that. If not, looks like I need a blend door. Installing that Monday on my next day off. Also changing the supercharger oil and servicing the transmission. Still need to get the rear brakes and rotors, Sea Foam the intake, replace plugs and wires, and the valve cover gaskets. Nothing major wrong with this beast, just a laundry list of nit picky stuff.

As far as cosmetic stuff, I've got some interior bits to replace or refurbish. I sooooo need to find one of these at the junkyard...

The car itself just needs to be repainted and have a minor dent on the passenger side fixed. If I decide to keep the thing, that happens in the summer. Looking at dark green, or yellow on the new color. One of the few cars out there that can pull off yellow or orange, IMHO. Not a fan of the present color.

Looks like you plan to take good care of it. It seems that's harder to come by nowadays. Most of the ones I see are just beat. Good job
