Best Designed Car, Worst Designed Blinker Empty
PostSubject: Best Designed Car, Worst Designed Blinker   Best Designed Car, Worst Designed Blinker EmptySat Feb 08, 2014 11:38 pm

Anyone have any tips on swapping the blinker in a 1992 Slantback? I can reach the socket on the dual-element 2057 bulb but not at an angle that I can do anything with it. I need some help here, the right blinker just went to so I'm blinkerless in front. Not okay.

Thanks for the help!

Is this the front or back then? on most of that generation of these cars they conveniently make so you need to remove the whole assembly to swap bulbs  rolleyes

If back then you open the trunk. Pull back the carpet covering the back side of the taillights. Remove the plastic wing nuts, about six or eight. Slide the whole taillight assembly to the rear. The bulbs pop out of the assembly.

For the front, Look under the front bumper, there is an access panel held in place by 5 screws, remove it.
Reach in, twist and remove 2 bulbs.
Using a 10 mm socket, remove the nuts securing the lamp.
Carefully remove the lamp by maneuvering it to the center of the bumper and out through the bottom opening.

^directions according to what I found on the subject from the aaca group and it looks about comparable to our reattas which are sister cars to the slantback

Thanks much man, I got my hopes up that it wouldn't be a pain in the rear when I could reach the socket...
I'm doomed. Gotta make a write-up as I do it!
