It's nice to be able to share my love for the Riv, and I'm excited I found you good people. I own a pearl white Super Charged 96 I call "Sharon." She has been a little neglected over the years, but I'm slowly fixing her back up. I like checking out all the mods, but I still prefer my car to be bone stock. Maybe that's because I'm a little older now. But in my youth I was pretty crazy. I dropped a 289 in a Ford Pinto. In the future I hope I get the chance to contribute to this board in some way, but for now I'm trying to catch up on all the information here. Talk to you soon.

Hey Rob,
I hear ya on those "conversions." Among my favorites are a 454 into a 1980 Camaro, 305 and 700R4 into a 1983 Volvo wagon and a 500 Caddy into an 1982 Suburban. These guys are a fun bunch.

Cheers,
Cody

When I was 18 my buddy talked me into doing it. I learned a lot. First, I learned I couldn't trust him when he said he'd help out with the project. But I also learned to depend on myself, which is an attitude I carried with me my whole life, so it worked out. Second, I learned a lot about welding, engineering, materials, basically how to make a square peg fit into a round hole. Third, I learned how to realistically estimate how long and how difficult a project will be as opposed to how long one imagines it will take or how easy one imagines it will be.

It was the fastest ride in town for about a month. Then I blew out the differential. I sold it to another person who needed some life experience and bought a 68 Chev Camaro, resolving to never do an engine swap again. That is until years later when I bought a Triumph TR-7 and decided to drop a V6 in it, but that's another story.

Nice to meet you, Cody. -R
