| Has anyone ever tried adapting the Dog Bone engine mounts off of a GTP to a Rivi? I would think that it would eliminate the need for filling the engine mounts or making hockey puck mounts. Could even eliminate that stupid mount that goes through the belt. | |

| You can't. There isn't an upper support to mount them too. | |

| Do you mean the support on the radiator shroud or the motor? Or do you mean there's no bolt holes on the motor for the mount? Either way I was thinking of pulling the whole assembly out of a GTP, drilling the holes in the radiator shroud, and bolting everything up. Looks like it would be pretty straightforward. | |

| The upper radiator shroud on the Riv is not metal. That's not a good idea. | |

| Really? I could have sworn it was metal. Will check tomorrow when I'm changing my oil. | |

| Even if it was metal, it has zero frame/chassis support. Notice that it only has bolts on the outer edges holding it down. It's just a decorative "cap" for the Radiator/Condenser. | |

| I knew there wasn't a tremendous amount under it, but I figured the GTP's was similar. Off to go find someone doing a radiator replacement in that to see what supports it (just out of curiosity). | |

It looks like it should be, but there's not much there. Look at the bracing to support the hood latch. In a GTP that's a structural piece of metal. Not on the Riv.

That's exactly what I'm seeing. I just started a video on a radiator replacement on a GTP. Strange how they designed the supports so differently for the same engine.

| Well, the Riv wasn't designed as a "sports" car like the Grand Prix. It's supposed to be mushy and cloud-like. I'm sure they weren't expecting a bunch of idiots like us to be modding the hell outta these things lol.

which is why we: - install strut tower brace - fill engine mounts - replace OE front struts with almost anything (kyb, Monroe, Gabriel, etc) firmer - obsess about springs etc. Albertj
