EVAP Throttle). - EVAP solenoid to throttle body vacuum line Empty

Hello everyone,

When I was putting on my PLOG and crossover a few weeks ago, I noticed the rubber connection for the throttle body-to-EVAP solenoid was cracked badly. Not enough to leak though. I tried ordering one from my dealer, but the line isn't available from GM anymore for the '96 and '97 L67 engine. I ordered one for a 2000+ Bonneville because I knew they existed, but also because the rubber that was broken was the same part. I got the part in, and swapped the rubber ends, all is well.

I thought of cobbling something together with adapaters and whatnot but...no. Anyway, I don't know what the year cutoff is for ordering this particular line, but at least for us '96 and '97 guys, something can be done! This isn't the first time I've had this rubber connector break...the cars are getting old.

Here is the part in question. It is barely visible behind some wiring on the front of the throttle body.

I don't have an L67 throttle body sitting around to check but I'd see about yanking that nipple off the throttle body and replacing it with a 1/8NPT hose barb elbow (which means tapping the hole of course) and getting a common rubber 90 elbow to connect it to the plastic hose or something to that affect.

Yes also a good idea Codith. And probably easier in the long run - that way it can be replaced with any old vacuum line.

Andrew...
Do you happen to have the GM part no. for this Bonneville solenoid to throttle body vacuum line? My  '97 needs this same vacuum line...snapped right off. Thanks!

24506665 is the line I got. On the '97 specifically, the EVAP solenoid is a bit different than the '98+ L67, but the '97 lines aren't available anymore. Either way, if your line actually broke, this new line will work but not as it comes. You'll have to play with it a bit but it can be used no problem.

The solenoid end is completely different.

Awesome...thank you so much! Yes, it snapped off on the throttle body end. I am trying to get my DTC P0441 code resolved and SES light OFF so I can pass my GA Clean Air Inspection. I'm starting with the simple stuff (purge solenoid and vacuum switch) and finding a lot of old and brittle parts (like me!).  razz
