| I have become the owner of a 95 SC. Was a one owner, garaged all it's life and has 166,000 mikes. SC was replaced a couple of years ago. Very nice car. Forum has been a great help already with what I thought was a cooling issue which turns out is normal. Look forward to visiting with everyone. | |

| Hey Rick, welcome. If you don't mind me asking, why was the S/C replaced and was it replaced with a same-generation Eaton? Don't hear of these S/Cs being replaced very often unless someone wants to upgrade. | |

| Apparently it had a bearing issue. It cost the former owner 3200. I saw the receipt. The changed the intake gasketmat the same time. This car was owned by a lady who parked it after that and bought a Lincoln. I am sure she got the "full treatment" from the dealer. | |

| Ah yes, the replace the whole blower for a simple bearing dealer thing. Its like replacing your whole engine cause the alternator is broken. But they don't know any better. As they say, anything is easy if you know how. You will never have that problem now that you are here. Lots of good info and knowledgeable people here. Welcome! _________________ | |

| Welcome to the site! 99% of the time "Bearing replacement" means the coupler is worn and making noise (that sounds like bearing noise). Couplers aren't available through the typical aftermarket, you have to know where to look, but for a $30 job, many a supercharger has been replaced instead because "that's what the book says to do".

| True about the failing coupler and S/C replacement. No shop (including the dealer) is going to open up and replace anything inside a supercharger. One little screw up, and there's potentially parts breaking and falling into the engine. That right there is a HUGE liability. Replace the S/C (as recommended), and everything is warrantied should the S/C fail. That's why nobody replaces a simple coupler even though that's what we know is failing.
